This is a 5th year university project that wishes to create a center for alternative culture in the old customs warehouses, known as Vama Antrepozite, in Uranus district.
Subcultures, social and cultural coagulation, flexibility, versatility, plurivalence, fluidity, these are all attributes that a center for alternative arts and culture should meet.
Alternative cultures need a versatile space which can house diverse and significantly different subcultures.
Maintaining a current and unique functionality, the space was set up as an outdoor cinema, with the old water tower housing the projectors. The screen-wall is held up by a mechanical system that can flip it, to become a stage's floor.
The different functionalities are connected both functionally and compositionally by a circulation tunnel, enclosed by two layers: an interior glass layer, with its own structure, and an artistic exterior layer made of laser cut steel sheets.
